Initial Application Help - Work Experience
The Audit Experience step requires applicants to describe relevant work experience that meets minimal requirements according to the standard and authentication level.
Related Work Experience for Level 2 Applicants
Section titled “Related Work Experience for Level 2 Applicants”When applying for Level 2 authentication, IAQG requires 3 years of “related work experience.”
Related work experience must be full-time as an employee or contractor in similar scopes of applicability to the ASD industry. This could include automotive, nuclear, maritime, medical devices, or other high risk/safety critical industries. You must have had direct involvement in engineering, design, manufacturing, quality, and/or process control activities.
The “Type of Organization” field provides a list of acceptable organization categories, including “Non-ASD Industry with similar scope”. In the “Areas of Your Involvement” dropdown, select all that apply from the list of Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Process Control.
Non-MRO Work Experience for Level 1 Applicants
Section titled “Non-MRO Work Experience for Level 1 Applicants”When applying for Level 1 authentication, applicants must demonstrate 5 years of ASD work experience within the past 8 years, not counting any Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) experience.
Recognized “non-MRO ASD work experience” must be full-time employment or full-time contracting either from a major equipment manufacturer or integrator organization, an ASD Prime Organization, or an ASD Regulatory Agency outside of the MRO context. Applicants must demonstrate direct involvement in engineering, design, manufacturing, quality, or process control activities.
In the “Type of Organization” dropdown, select one of the applicable types of organizations; experience marked as “non-ASD Industry with similar scope” will NOT be counted. In the “Areas of Your Involvement” dropdown, select all that apply from the list of Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Process Control.
Aviation Maintenance Work Experience for 9110 Level 1 Applicants
Section titled “Aviation Maintenance Work Experience for 9110 Level 1 Applicants”In addition to the non-MRO Work Experience explained above, applicants for 9110 Level 1 must demonstrate 2 years of Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul work experience that includes direct involvement in all relevant areas.
Recognized “aviation maintenance work experience” must be full-time employment or full-time contracting within an MRO organization authorized by a civil or military aviation authority, and experience must include direct involvement in all key aspects of aviation maintenance and repair (specifically: overhauling, disassembling, inspecting, testing, replacing, rectifying defects, and installing modifications & repairs).
To indicate this type of work experience, select “Authorized Aviation MRO Organization” from the “Organization Type” dropdown list. Then, confirm direct involvement in all the relevant functions in the “Areas of Your Direct Involvement” dropdown list. Collectively, the provided MRO work experience must include all seven listed areas of direct involvement: overhauling, disassembling, inspecting, testing, replacing, rectifying defects, and installing modifications & repairs.

Section titled “The supervisor no longer works at the company and can no longer verify my experience. Can I still claim the work experience?”IAQG Authentication requires an outside authority to verify your work experience. However, these parties do not necessarily need to still be employed by the company in question. Applicants may provide a contact’s personal email address, or one for the contact at their new employer, provided the contact is still willing to verify the audit experience.
